VETS
I have been a vet since 1980 when I qualified from Bristol University and have been treating animals at Avonvale for 25 years. I have a post graduate certificate in Sheep Health and Production but since Avonvale specialised in companion animals, my interests have been focussed on general practice. I lead our team at the Warwick surgery and I have become the ‘resident consultant’ for ferrets. However at home I have a flock of sheep to keep me busy plus 3 dogs, 2 cats, 3 tortoises, chickens, ponies and pond full of tadpoles!

I have a keen interest in surgery and internal medicine and also enjoy getting to the bottom of chronic dermatology cases. At home I have two ginger cats, Tiger and Lily. Despite their names they are brothers and were found as kittens abandoned on the Banbury Road. |
Kieran O'Halloran MRCVS I qualified as a vet from The University College of Dublin in 1998 and after a short time in a mixed practice in Ireland moved to Somerset to concentrate on small animal medicine. I have been with Avonvale since 2003 in Wellesbourne and more recently leading the team at the Kenilworth surgery. I have a particular interest in Orthopaedic surgery. At home I have a Bluepoint Burman cat, Danny who is very handsome…and knows it! |
Simon Davies MRCVS I have been in small animal practice since 1997 when I qualified from Bristol University. Penny Baines MRCVS I have been a vet with Avonvale since 2007 and have worked in practices in North Yorkshire and Cheshire. I grew up in Northumberland and first studied Zoology at Durham University before deciding to become a vet and trained in veterinary medicine and surgery for five years at Glasgow. Claire Yeadon MRCVS I read Biology at Edinburgh University before deciding I wanted to be a vet and qualifying from Bristol University. My family has a farming background so I have been surrounded by animals my whole life. I moved to the Midlands with my partner who is also a vet so the temptation to have a house full of animals is very strong. |
