Our Avonvale surgery is the first surgery in Stratford to be accredited by The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. The surgery is now approved and listed by the RCVS as a Small Animal General Practice.
The Practice Standards Scheme which has been running for over 10 years has been established by the RCVS to provide a way for pet owners to have confidence in the standard of care their pet will receive. Accreditation means that the practice has undergone a rigorous inspection by the Royal College and around half of the UK's practice premises are currently accredited. Inspectors visit every four years to ensure that facilities meet the standards including animal patient care, hygiene, 24-hour emergency cover, staff training, certain types of equipment and cost estimation procedures. Practices are also subject to spot-checks between inspections.
Avonvale surgery in Warwick has been awarded the highest category of accreditation as a Small Animal Hospital and Emergency Service provider, while Southam, Wellesbourne and Kenilworth surgeries have retained their General Practice status for third time.
